Lechner Racing Team Bahrain
The title holder

The title holder from 2007 will go in 2008 for the championship in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup once more. The Lechner Racing Team Bahrain claimed the team championship of the Supercup in 2007. With that, for the first time a team under the flag of an Arabian state becomes champion. Furthermore the Irishman Damien Faulkner claimed runner-up in the driver standings, ending up on the podium at every second race. Further more former Supercup Champion Alessandro Zampedri contributed good results and with that secured the team-title for the branch of Lechner Racing, that was founded as the first Arabian team in the Supercup in the 2006.

There is hardly one team in Europe that celebrated more successes within three decades of motorsports than the team of the Austrian Walter Lechner. For more than twenty years the team manager himself sat behind the steering wheel and brought in innumerable sports car successes. During group C times with the Porsche 956 and 962 he belonged to the most successful sports car pilots of the world. He dominated the Interseries, a sports car championship in Europe, almost at discretion. In the Porsche Supercup Walter Lechner with his team competes since the year 2003.
