Numerous pedestrians were really taken by surprise, when instead of a regular bus all of a sudden the 450 hp strong Porsche of 911 GT3 of Robert Lukas approached the buss stop. “Everything happened without a letter of indication”, says the Supercup pilot. “We just demonstrated a pit stop a curbside.” A road closure, like it would have been indispensable for example in Germany, was unmeant. “In fact that was the exciting part of the mission. While the normal traffic was passing by we simulated a pit stop after which I went back onto the street with full throttle”, the VERVA-pilot explains with a smile in his face. The goal of the mission was to lure visitors for the upcoming VERVA Street Racing show which will take place in Warsaw on August, 21st. As announced by organizer Orlen, the spectators will see a number of exclusive sports cars as well as a show with the Supercup Porsche and Formula 1 vehicles. “It will be an exciting event”, says Robert Lukas. However, the Pole will not be at the spot in Warsaw. He will fight for points in the German Carrera Cup round at the Dutch Zandvoort circuit that weekend. –sn |
